Synopsis

This project centres on the act of dancing and on the environment of freedom that opens up when we truly give ourselves up to the pleasure of dancing and moving in whichever way we wish.
We could say that “Bailar por Bailar” is a concert. A concert by Joseba Irazoki, but with a ‘dance corps’. In an exhaustive study we work on how notes and sound vibrations influence, modify, impact on and reverberate around our bodies. And simultaneously how our own movement vibrates in space and leaves traces in it, using reminiscences of different recognisable ways of dancing suggested by Joseba’s music, distorting them and adapting them to suit me.

With regard to stage presence, we are aiming for the most natural, and closest experience to that of inhabiting the stage, with that spirit of live concerts. We are working within a pre-designed structure and predetermined norms and actions but have also left room for improvisation.
